Farm Tools and Everyday Objects
The family’s large horse barn was converted into the Americana Museum, a place for objects connected to farm work and nineteenth-century domestic life. In earlier days the barn housed twelve horses. Today its displays help visitors imagine work that once supported the farm and household, including early farming tools, a large loom used for rag rugs, a pig slaughtering table, cheese press, hand washing machine, shoe lasts, and other artifacts from a bygone era.
