A Barn Turned Social Hall
The Coliseum, also known as the Pavilion or Rental Hall, began as a barn on the property before it was moved closer to Main Street. It was used for parties, dinners, church fundraisers, and community gatherings. In 1921, while Stephen was away aboard ship, David moved one of the barns and converted it into a building with a nautical feeling, including porthole-like windows, directional signs, a large ship’s wheel, and a dance floor. It became a focus of the brothers’ social life and fundraising efforts and continues to serve public events today.
